“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:25–26 ESV
I have a simple truth for us to remember this week. His eye is on the sparrow.
Do you feel anxious? Worried about what has or maybe hasn’t happened yet?
His eye is on the sparrow.
Do you feel run down? Tired? Beaten and battered?
His eye is on the sparrow.
Do you feel alone? Forgotten? Abandoned?
His eye is on the sparrow.
Remember this today and rejoice. Your Heavenly Father cares for you. How much more does He value you, who alone of creation bears His image? His eye is upon you. He will guide you. Remember this.
Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
Psalm 32:8 ESV
