It's May again... and you probably already know what that means. For a group of our students, they are nearing the end of their senior year of high school. It is an exciting and bittersweet time of their lives (and ours) as they get ready for one last summer in our student ministry. One last camp. One last mission trip... but the good news is that it is only the beginning of what we are sure God is going to do through this group of young people. We have been so very blessed to have them in our student ministry and will commit to continuing to pray for them and support them as they are shot out like arrows into this wide world with the hope of Jesus Christ. In a time like this, it can be hard to feel certain about what is next and what might lay ahead. God knows this and has given us a step by step guide on how to be sure we are headed the right way (we all need to be reminded sometimes).
In Matthew chapter 6 we find Jesus teaching on the mountain about what the Kingdom of God is like. He teaches about what kind of people inherit the Kingdom, how to live in that Kingdom and shifts in verse 25 to the topic of anxiety. In verse 33 we find the instruction on how to live life when you are unsure about anything. Here are the steps:
- Seek the Kingdom of God first.
- Everything else will be added to you.
- (Repeat)God loves you and cares so much for you. If you trust Him, seek Him, and try to honor Him in all your ways, you cannot go wrong...
And don't forget that your church family is always here for you to help you chase after Jesus and live in the power of the Spirit.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." - Matthew 6:33
